SUMMARY 

Uses personal and leadership selling techniques designed to maximize the sale and distribution of Gallo brands and Agency brands within the key account retail channel in the Alberta market. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Develops an understanding of Category Management to analyse market, sales, forecast data,  etc. to identify business opportunities and develop recommendations and plans to execute against them.  
  • Provides data analysis and reporting to customers, which includes interpreting and disseminating results to customers and helping identify business opportunities.  Develop value-based relationships with all departments of the Customers, along with Gallo  interdepartmental divisions
  • Develop plans and presentations to each customer to ensure new listings and innovation  goals are achieved 
  • Negotiating with Key Accounts to further promote Gallo brands inside the retail locations via  flyer programs and displays 
  • Develops and presents pricing recommendations 
  • Ensures timely and efficient sales execution of priorities and objectives.  Updates provincial manager and leadership team on performance, issues, risks, and  opportunities throughout the key account channel 
  • Deep understanding of the P&L both provincially and by key account chain Work closely with field sales team to ensure all priorities and initiatives are executed Create and execute presentations to the accounts, markets and internal divisions Manages personal business expenses (meals, transportation, and lodging) and monitors subordinate business expenses.  
  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance, including timeliness.

The Key Account Manager has no authority to negotiate or conclude sales contracts, solicit sales,  accept sales orders or determine sales prices.  

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • College plus 4 years of Wine Sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility;  or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience working for a Multi-National Corporation. 
  • Experience working with chain distributions  
  • Working with MS Word and MS Outlook at an intermediate level and MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at a basic level required.
  • Required to see, smell and taste wine as part of wine tasting.  
  • Required to lift, move, and stack product cases, up to 50 lbs.  
  • Required to travel by air and car as part of job duties.  
  • Required to maintain a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
  • Required to obtain Liquor License as mandated by provincial and local laws.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or GED. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, plus 2 to 4 years of Wine Sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience working for a Multi-National Corporation. 
  • Experience working with MS Word and MS Outlook at an intermediate level and MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at a basic level required.
  • Experience working with chain distributions  
  • Skilled to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Experience speaking effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Experience calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,  proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit.

The noise level in the office is usually quiet.
