Now is the time to make it happen

Yep…no more “I’m too busy”, “I don’t know what to do” or “I’m just too tired at the end of the day”. Newsflash: you’re never going to be “un-busy”, you are never too old to learn a new trick and guess what??? The more you move, the more energy you will have. Ever heard of endorphins??? Just sayin…

But all kidding aside, there’s no time like the present to start making small changes to leave long-term BIG results. Don’t believe it? Then check out this beautifully moving video about a man who didn’t give up. Just one step at a time is all it took.

Now are you convinced? There’s NO WAY you’re life is any more challenging than his, so let’s get started on a new life path and watch the transformation begin.

For the next month I would like you to change just ONE thing in the exercise and nutrition categories to create not only immediate healthy lifestyle changes, but habits that will stick. For example:

·         Eat 1 more fruit or vegetable and walk an extra 10 minutes per day

·         Drink 1 more glass of water and shut down the computer 10 mins earlier for a good stretch

·         Prepare 1 more home made meal or snack and get off the subway 1 stop earlier

Now these are just examples of “a little can mean a lot”. If these don’t suit you, invent your own and go for it!

In the grand scheme of things, when you break it down, it’s not hard and seems simple enough but with the craziness of life and our daily schedules, you will see how making small changes is the only realistic way to go. And if you need a bit more motivation and you’re a mom, look at your kids. Are you setting the stage for them? Do you “walk the talk”?

Let’s face it, no one is going to do it for you and saying, “I will start tomorrow or Monday morning, I promise!” only delays the inevitable. Putting it off just gives you an extra day to feel sorry for yourself and ultimately, worse off.

So I challenge you to start NOW and take the first step, just like that man in the video. Because really, if he can do it, so can you!

Find me on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn – and let’s talk!
