I think Cate Blanchett summed it up beautifully when accepting her award for Best Actress at the Academy Awards on Sunday night –
“….For so bravely and intelligently distributing the film and to the audiences who went to see it and perhaps those of us in the industry who are still foolishly clinging to the idea that female films with women at the center are niche experiences. They are not. Audiences want to see them and, in fact, they earn money. The world is round, people.”
Women are making a difference in this world and doing business with us makes financial sense! So please honour the women in your life this week. To all the business owners and decision makers out there – please keep us as a priority when you are making your marketing and business plans. Looking for ways to work with us and eliminating barriers for women should be your priority.
So please go celebrate women during the events happening throughout the week, and on March 8th take time to reflect on, and celebrate women in business!
