Women in Biz Network has arranged for members to have access to LegalShield and LegalID services at a special price.
So, what is LegalShield? And, is it right for you and your business?
Willi Shillinglaw (a WIBN member) explains: “A woman facing all the exciting challenges of building her business needs to be able to focus all her attention on being and building with excellence. LegalShield allows her to get all her legal questions answered at her fingertips for pennies a day.”
A recent study commissioned by LegalShield found that nearly 60%, of all small businesses have experienced significant legal issues in the past two years, often involving:
- Debt collection
- Contract & document review
- Contractor/Supplier disputes
- Threats of consumer lawsuits
- Internet security breaches
- Product liability issues, and
- Tax audits
Yet, of that 60% experiencing problems, 54% of them did not seek legal help because of cost.
An alternative to paying high attorney fees – or going without legal counsel – is a legal service plan. For a recurring monthly or annual fee, legal service plans offer a variety of legal services from a network of attorneys for a low flat monthly rate.
LegalShield’s research states that the most sought-after reasons for seeking legal help by small businesses were debt collection and document review—two services covered under their Small Business Plans. Other services covered under the plans include business law expertise and legal consultation on unlimited matters.
Willi reports that “for a small businesses that subscribe to a legal plan, 100% reported that they are satisfied with the service they receive”.
Even when things seem to be going well, there are constant legal matters that arise when running a business. “Because of new legislation in the privacy and maintenance of records, small businesses need to be aware of changing obligations and stay compliant”, says Willi.
