Are you ready for change?

Last month I told you to suck it up and stop making excuses about putting your physical health on the back burner but (purposely) didn’t give you any instructions on how to make the changes happen. If you missed it, check it out before reading further: Personal Fitness Priorities – Got any?

I wanted you to absorb what I said, come to terms with it and figure out if you’re ready or not. Because let’s be honest, you can lead a horse to water but…

On the flip side, if you want to make changes with regards to your lifestyle but not sure where to start, take your hand away from the mouse and think for a bit.

·         What are your biggest challenges?

·         Why is losing weight or going to the gym such a struggle for you but seems so easy for others?

·         Why do you go looking for something sweet even though you’re still full from dinner?

·         Why do all the fresh fruits and veggies in your fridge go bad before you’ve had a chance to cook them?

·         Why can’t you put as much effort into your food or physical body as you do in your business?

Remember, you’re not alone

News flash – these scenarios are nothing new and you are not the only one struggling with them. Figuring out the “why” can be the most challenging step in any life changing process, but facing the truth will (in a matter of words) “set you free”.

A friend of mine wrote a post on her blog, “You’re Almost There Girl” about How Do I Know If A Belief Is Holding Me Back From Achieving My Goal? It all starts with your internal dialogue and truly believing not only can you do it, but more importantly, you are worth it too.

So while you’re stewing this over in your head, be realistic and don’t jump at everything all at once. If nutrition is your challenge, start there. If it’s exercise, let that be your focus. If it’s just everything and you feel overwhelmed, pick one and take it day by day.

Sure it’s going to take a while and you will probably fall off that horse more times than not before you stay on. But know this; just like becoming a mom and starting your own business, the work you put in, has massive payoffs in the end.

If you are one of the ones who have decided that “enough is enough” and you’re going to change the way you eat and move your body more than from the desk to the coffee maker, heads up; it’s going to be a bumpy ride…

Are you ready for change? A good question to ask, I know.
