On April 12, 2012, WIBN hosted another event at the lovely and hip Opus Hotel in Vancouver for an evening with author, coach, Guru Danielle LaPorte. Danielle is celebrating the launch of her latest book, The Fire Starter Sessions. A book designed to wake you up, light your fires and get you thinking in new exciting ways.
Danielle in person is as amazing as her book. She spent the first part of the evening mingling and chatting with people and finding out what they really wanted to talk about that night. She is amazing at remembering names and stories. Danielle is warm, calm and confident.
She asked for us to call out words that we wanted to tackle – words like fear, ownership, and guilt. Danielle then took these words and shared personal experiences and her own readings which helped us to see a clearer and more positive path to achieving our goals.
It was a great evening, and I am truly amazed at all the incredible people I have been able to meet through networking and events like this. Vancouver is a hotbed of incredible and inspiring women and having so many in one room was electric.
Danielle was so gracious and took the time to sign everyone’s books. These books were kindly made available to WIBN in advance of the release date by Random House. A special thank you to title sponsor Chevrolet Canada, TD Canada Trust and Maple Leaf Foods for making this event possible.
I also want to thank Vairdy Andrew for photographing the evening and to Skoah and Lunapads for contributing to our goody bags.
Vancouver is a great supportive network for women in business. Inspiration, sharing and mentorship run strong in this community. We are excited to do more and more events of this calibre for you.
