Sales Manager, Ernest and Julio Gallo (Remote – Alberta)

SUMMARY 

This role is for those who possess exemplary leadership skills, people management and a  solution based approach to achieve our goals in Alberta while collaborating with all departments  to ensure strong synergies and results. 

MANAGERIAL STRUCTURE  

  • Reports directly to the Senior Sales Manager, Canada. 
  • This position has direct reports. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Promotes positive working relationships across the organization and with customers.  Demonstrates Gallo and Agency sales priorities through coaching, modelling and physical demonstration.  
  • Conducts sales and wine education training to the customer. 
  • Provide sales support and expertise to maximize results and process efficiencies. 
  • Demonstrates how to merchandise product and build displays. 
  • Conducts wine tastings. 
  • Ensures timely and efficient sales execution of priorities and objectives.  Manages personal business expenses (meals, transportation, and lodging) and monitors subordinate business expenses.  
  • Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. 
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Supporting Customer Development Functions: 

  • Develops an understanding of Category Management to analyse market, sales, forecast data, etc. to identify business opportunities and develop recommendations and plans to execute against them.  
  • Presents on-going business reviews to key customer personnel and educates customer personnel on the wine category. 
  • Provides data analysis and reporting to customers, which includes interpreting and disseminating results to customers and helping identify business opportunities.  Directly interfaces with customer category decision makers to influence their category  management practices as their key point of contact for all retail channels of business for  the liquor board (Retail, Specialty Services, Private Order & Depot) 
  • Develops positive relationships: winery, and customer organizations.  Sells “Best Practices” concepts, philosophies and innovations to the retailer.  Provides counsel on business related issues; creates customized business solutions and recommendations.  
  • Provides guidance and education to users regarding data tools, internal data usage, and best practices.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develops, coaches and mentors subordinate staff.  
  • Conducts performance evaluations; recommends salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

Key Account Manager, Ernest and Julio Gallo (Remote – Alberta)

SUMMARY 

Uses personal and leadership selling techniques designed to maximize the sale and distribution of Gallo brands and Agency brands within the key account retail channel in the Alberta market. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Develops an understanding of Category Management to analyse market, sales, forecast data,  etc. to identify business opportunities and develop recommendations and plans to execute against them.  
  • Provides data analysis and reporting to customers, which includes interpreting and disseminating results to customers and helping identify business opportunities.  Develop value-based relationships with all departments of the Customers, along with Gallo  interdepartmental divisions
  • Develop plans and presentations to each customer to ensure new listings and innovation  goals are achieved 
  • Negotiating with Key Accounts to further promote Gallo brands inside the retail locations via  flyer programs and displays 
  • Develops and presents pricing recommendations 
  • Ensures timely and efficient sales execution of priorities and objectives.  Updates provincial manager and leadership team on performance, issues, risks, and  opportunities throughout the key account channel 
  • Deep understanding of the P&L both provincially and by key account chain Work closely with field sales team to ensure all priorities and initiatives are executed Create and execute presentations to the accounts, markets and internal divisions Manages personal business expenses (meals, transportation, and lodging) and monitors subordinate business expenses.

Sales Rep – Retail – Canada, Ernest and Julio Gallo

SUMMARY

Performs sales and servicing calls on existing and perspective retail accounts within an assigned geographical territory.  Responsible for providing consultative business advice to key and peripheral accounts in order to increase sales and distribution. This position upholds Gallo’s guidelines, standards and policies.

 

This position will cover Edmonton North, Grand Prairies and Jasper.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develops positive, consultative relationships with Retail Customer’s Accounts throughout a specified territory.
  • Conducts sales training for any retail customer’s staff member, selling, and handling or in any way distributing Gallo products, to include wine education.
  • Demonstrates basic wine knowledge.
  • Promotes positive working relationships across the organization.
  • Executes special events and consumer tastings with the support of the sales and marketing teams including community charity events, in-store tastings and live radio remotes.
  • Controls personal business expenses (meals, transportation, and lodging).
  • Increases product shelf and fridge distribution points, launches new brands into market, maintains product inventory, properly services accounts, rotates product, and constructs and maintains appropriate and attractive product displays.
  • Communicates orally in an effective and persuasive manner with proprietors and all personnel of a higher diverse base of customers and potential customers.
  • Reads and analyzes written instructions and materials, and plans sales efforts.
  • Completes administrative responsibilities according to deadlines and Gallo standards.
