Women in Biz Network (WIBN) is a premier national organization dedicated to the professional development and success of Women+ Entrepreneurs, Tech Professionals, and ChangeMaker Business Leaders. Founded in 2010 by Leadership Brand Strategist and educator Leigh Mitchell, WIBN has grown into a thriving community of 35,000+ members across Canada, the United States, and worldwide.
For over 15 years, we have been the hub where ambitious women and allies come to build skills, find mentorship, forge meaningful connections, and lead with confidence. We are not a networking group. We are a movement.

Our Story
Women in Biz Network was born from a simple but powerful belief: that when women are given the right tools, the right community, and the right support, they do not just succeed. They transform industries.
Founder Leigh Mitchell started WIBN in 2010 after experiencing firsthand the challenges that women entrepreneurs face when navigating business growth without community or support. What began as a grassroots network has grown into one of Canada’s most recognized communities for women in business, with a reputation built on authenticity, advocacy, and action.
WIBN bridges the critical gap between professional growth and personal well-being. We believe that to build purposeful careers and sustainable ventures, leaders need a robust hub for advocacy, skill-building, and meaningful connection. That belief drives everything we do.

Mentorship and Education Leigh Mitchell and the WIBN team actively mentor emerging leaders through YSpace, Rise, The Prosperity Project, and YEDI. Leigh also brings real-world expertise into the classroom as a marketing and business educator at York University and the University of Guelph-Humber.

Leigh Mitchell is a Trauma-Informed Leadership Brand Strategist, educator, podcast host, and the founder of Women in Biz Network. She is the creator of the Own Your Imprint Inner Leadership personal brand framework and a recognized Forbes Top 10 Entrepreneur of Impact and Women of Microsoft award winner.
With over 15 years of community-building experience and a career rooted in authentic leadership, Leigh has established corporate partnerships with Microsoft Canada, TELUS, TD Canada Trust, and Definity. She teaches at York University and the University of Guelph-Humber, mentors through YSpace, Rise, The Prosperity Project, and YEDI, and hosts the ChangeMaker Leader Podcast.
