In today’s competitive marketplace, people are no longer just working from their office computer. People are conducting business from just about everywhere. The tablet at the airport lounge, the laptop in the hotel room, smart phone in the cab, the company’s office computer a thousand miles from home, and they want access to their documents and files no matter what device they’re using.
Here are 5 free online tools that can be accessed from any computer or laptop and each is available as a free app on your iPhone, Android or Blackberry devices. They will have you working smarter in more ways than one.
Dropbox
You created your presentation from your office computer, put the finishing touches from your laptop at home, collaborated on the presentation with your team and made edits from your tablet at the airport. Dropbox allows you to save, share, retrieve and edit documents from multiple devices.
Evernote
Never forget anything again. Use Evernote to take meeting notes, record audio notes, save images (such as receipts), web pages (great for research) and attachments.
Google Calendar
Everyone must have an online calendar that can be accessed from anywhere and everywhere. It keeps track of my business and personal schedules, meetings, kids activities, birthdays, etc. I could not keep it all in my head without it. Cozi is another great online calendar option.
Remember the Milk
This is a great to do list and task organizer. RTM lets you manage and share tasks, integrates with Gmail and Google Calendar, and if you have an iPhone 4S, it’ll get Siri to do the work for you.
WordPress
If your website is on WordPress, you don’t need to pay your web person each time you want to make editorial changes to the site. You can make updates anywhere, anytime and you don’t need to be a PHD in computer science to do it.
These tools will sync automatically so if you make a change from your desktop computer, the change will appear in the app and vice versa.
