Alexandra V. Mayeski
Mayeski Mathers LLP – LawyersBiographical Info
Alexandra is a partner at Mayeski Mathers LLP with offices in beautiful Prince Edward County and Toronto. She combines strong communication, presentation and analytical skills with sound judgment when advocating on behalf of her clients. She is dedicated to providing clients with the most efficient, practical and cost-effective resolutions to the issues that they face. While the firm deals with a broad range of issues, it has a special focus on elder law matters, such as estate, trust and capacity issues.
She has appeared before all levels of the Ontario courts as well as various administrative boards and tribunals. She has represented clients in trials, arbitrations, adjudications, hearings, mediations and appeals.
Prior to starting her own law firm, Alexandra worked at a well-known litigation boutique in Hamilton, Evans Sweeny Bordin LLP, at a national Bay Street law firm in Toronto, Heenan Blaikie LLP, and most recently, at a health law boutique firm, Dykeman Dewhirst O’Brien LLP, as Senior Litigation Counsel. Alexandra continues to maintain her litigation practice with Dykeman Dewhirst O’Brien LLP in an “of counsel” role with the firm.
She is active in her community and sits on the Boards of TASTE the County and the Alzheimer’s Society of Prince Edward County. Alexandra is also an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Trusts and Estates Law Section.
After being “weekenders” for a number of years, Alexandra and her husband decided to live full-time in Prince Edward County and in so doing, they have eliminated hours of commuting to and from work, spend more time with their two small children and have a better quality of life. Living in the County also means there is more time to spend working in their small vineyard on their property – an excuse for Alexandra’s husband to purchase his tractor.
