Michelle is an exercise gerontologist who’s had a lifelong love affair with movement. She’s spent over 25 years in the fields of health, exercise, recreation, and education. Ms. Gillis has been instrumental in the development of numerous strategic community, provincial and national wellness initiatives.

As Program & Education Director for the Vital Steps family of companies, she ensures that the latest research, protocols, and best practices are considered to ensure exceptional program and service delivery.

She is the co-author of “Just do it…before you talk yourself out of it”: The self-talk of adults thinking about physical activity.” (Journal of Psychology of Sport & Exercise, 2005).

Over the years, she has appeared in various media outlets in Toronto, Edmonton, and Calgary (print, radio, television, and online).
