Patience, empathy and knowledge are the qualities I bring to the table. Just before my 40th birthday I became a single mother of 3 young children. This experience led me in a new direction, both personally and professionally, as I became an insurance and financial advisor.
Together with you, we will take the time to review your current situation and prepare a solid plan for the future based on your needs and desires. I will also help manage your risk, protecting against life’s uncertainties with life, disability and critical illness insurance. As an independent advisor, your needs always come first.
As the winner of Alterna Savings and Credit Union’s first Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Idol award, I had the opportunity of traveling to the Philippines with the Canadian Co-operative Association and observe firsthand the benefits of people working together for their mutual benefit. As a member of the Centre for Social Innovation, this is my outlook on life and in work.
Toronto has been my home my entire life and I have lived in Parkdale/Roncesvalles for 30 years. I am an incessant community volunteer and was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal for my efforts. Spare time (what spare time?) has me writing, mostly plays, and enjoying hikes around southern Ontario.

Anthea started her insurance career at her Father’s insurance brokerage at the age of 15. Like many small business owners, Dennis Mumby operated the brokerage from his home at that time. This gave Anthea daily exposure to the brokerage, or as some would say “insurance in her blood”. She acquired her technical knowledge and experience working in various roles through the years, while always adhering to her father’s philosophy of “look after clients first, and the business will look after itself.” Anthea assisted her father after school and on weekends, and joined the firm full time after she graduated from the University of Waterloo.
She was then given the opportunity to acquire the Family Brokerage in 2002 wherein she assumed the role of President. Anthea now has over 25 years experience as a broker.
Anthea has a reputation of being a visionary in the insurance industry. Her passion is to consistently explore new and better ways of raising the bar in providing a superior customer service experience for Mumby’s clients. From product marketing to developing sound carrier relationships, Anthea’s focus is to promote and reinforce the Mumby MORE promise statements. Anthea takes pride in the fact that over 96% of her customers renew their insurance with Mumby each year.
Anthea’s strong work ethic and commitment to fulfilling her Father’s legacy of always putting clients’ interests first, means she can be counted on to get the job done in a conscientious, client focused, and professional manner.
