How does your business help entrepreneurs and professional women?

To be successful, you need to find your voice in several key areas – speaking, networking, marketing, sales and the most important and most overlooked of all, your physical voice – being able to speak your truth, express your power and say what you want to say. Because my whole life has been about finding my voice, for the past 16 years I have been helping women to find their voice.

I grew up extremely shy, with very little self-confidence, knowing I was very different than everyone around me. I always knew I would be a singer and I got my start on stage in a little tiny bar in a village north of Vancouver called Lumby. I was 17. After moving from BC to Toronto, an opportunity landed in my lap – and I became one of the first female hip hop artists, with a Top 40 single in Miami. Soon after, I was featured on a Juno (Canadian Grammys) Award-winning CD and nominated for a Canadian Reggae Music Award.

But the truth is, even though I had found my voice on stage and in the media, I couldn’t speak up about money and I was terrified of doing sales calls, so for years I was ridiculously underpaid and undervalued and I wasn’t attracting the right clients. I felt unfulfilled and I was working way too hard for not enough money, even though I had tons of media attention and I was doing what I loved. I wanted more, but I didn’t know how to make it happen.

Something powerful inside me was just aching to be fully expressed and at the same time my business suddenly hit an all-time low. It made no sense to me. All the signs seemed to be telling me to quit, but I could feel that something bigger was going on.

Then I took 3 important steps to change my life for good:

I STOPPED doing what wasn’t working.
I ASKED for spiritual AND human guidance and support, especially with how to make more money in my business.
I began to fearlessly EXPRESS myself and ALL of my sacred gifts through my business.
Okay, well, 4 things… I TOOK INSPIRED ACTION and used what my mentors and guides were giving me.

As a result, my business and my life have completely transformed. It’s like a new world has opened up for me.

I went from overworking and being underpaid to an income that allows me to invest thousands of dollars in my business, my family and myself every month and still have a profit. And my clients (who are a JOY to work with!) are fulfilling their purpose in bigger and bigger ways and losing their fear of expressing themselves and their gifts.

What I discovered and have developed through my own journey is that there is a unique Sacred Feminine Success Path that flows from within each of us. I can help you to discover and walk YOUR path, so you can stop struggling with being seen and heard, find your voice, attract more ideal clients, and create the prosperity and freedom you deserve.

What are you passionate about in your business and what steps are you taking to make it profitable?

My motto of the year: I only do what I FEEL like doing. Putting this into action has created more profit, time and freedom in my business very quickly.

I’m super passionate about cracking open and activating the deepest gifts and power within leading edge women entrepreneurs, and helping them to find their voice and express all of who they are in all areas of their business. I have a deep passion for helping women to OWN their expertise and package it into compelling signature offers for their ideal client.

You know what bugs me? I keep hearing all these “gurus” talking about the importance of finding your voice but none of them get beyond the surface of your marketing message. I’ve experienced MANY layers of finding my voice – from breaking through my extreme shyness, to speaking in front of thousands of people, to media interviews, to being featured live-to-air on national TV.

I spent years holding back my voice and power, and I discovered that you can have your message but if you don’t have your VPS – Voice, Power and Spirit – activated and working for you in your business, you still won’t have the level of success, money or fulfillment that is possible for you.

One more pet passion… Most business coaches will tell you that you have to do one thing. WHY ON EARTH would you NOT do what lights you up the most? Why would you want to leave your passion behind? You don’t have to!! it is MUCH more FULFILLING to bring together multiple passions and gifts and create your unique signature system as the “one thing”. Then you get to do what you’re most passionate about and still maintain focus.

P.S. That’s how I’m able to be a singer, drummer, healer, speaker, writer, visual artist, marketing guide, spiritual mentor, and intuitive. I am The Success Shaman. I get to do ALL of what I am passionate about in my business, as well as in my personal life.

Takeaways: I’m going to give conference attendees a taste of their real hidden power. They will take away simple tools to:

– Access their inner power and bring it into their marketing, sales and services
– Attract and enrol amazing clients
– Find their voice

What I really want them to take away is the whole body sensation of experiencing their own power and the magical qualities of their own voice… so they can access it throughout all aspects of their business.

What is your favourite business tool

It’s a tie between my Google Calendar and my iPhone. Any of my clients will tell you that I always have my Google Calendar open in front of me and I have it synched to my iPhone as well. Why? Keeps me on top of my appointments, helps me be creative with my time management (colour coding is a huge plus!!) and it keeps me on track with my deadlines and with tasks I might rather put off. It keeps me accountable.

My iPhone holds my calendar, dropbox app, project management and database apps, Hootsuite for social media, Instaquote for creating great inspirational picture messages, video cam, camera, voice recorder I do love my iTunes. When I’m away on business trips, I rarely need my laptop. I can do just about anything business-related, including accepting payments, on my phone.

What is your favourite business book?

7 Graces of Marketing by Lynn Serafinn

Lynn’s book addresses the ills of marketing (is marketing making you sick?) and then goes on to describe ethical ways to “heal humanity and the planet by changing the way we sell”. I know Lynn personally and she walks her talk. What this means is, all the research and personal experience she’s put into this book is REAL, I get aha’s every time I open it to a random page, like her piece about “Houseguest from Hell”. Her writing is informative, funny, to the point and brilliant, and anyone in business will come away from her book with a fresh perspective and new ideas on how to improve their marketing and sales for better results and, for those of you who hate marketing, you’ll love it the way she teaches it.
