Speaker Profile: Kathy Buckworth – WIBN 2012 Conference

The unofficial version of Kathy…

1. Tell us about your business.
I am an author, public speaker and spokesperson. My 6th book , "I Am So The Boss Of You" will be released in March 2013 by McClelland & Stewart. I work with many corporate brands in traditional p.r. and social media roles.

2. Tell us about yourself.
I have four kids. I spent 18 years in corporate marketing before writing my first book. I hung up my briefcase and picked up a pen, basically.

3. What motivated you to do what you do in business? Was there an “aha” moment or a moment of innovation?
The minute I decided I wasn’t having fun in corporate marketing I started writing and making a change. You have to love what you do.

4. How do you overcome challenges and obstacles in your business?
I take a very methodical approach to solving challenges and create spreadsheets and to do lists, often starting from the goal and working my way backwards. I act very quickly but I know exactly how the pieces should come together.

5. What are your greatest strengths as an entrepreneur?

I am very quick on my feet, and can find the big picture very easily which allows me to continually move forward. I am by nature a positive person so I think that really helps. I don’t have a "worst case scenario" gene.
