The unofficial version of Judy…
I am a motivational humourist, comedienne, MC, radio broadcaster and author.
2. What motivated you to do what you do in business? Was there an “aha” moment or a moment of innovation?
When I was studying to be a veterinarian in university, 6 generations of fruit flies and 70% of my final mark flew out of the biology class window. My lifelong dream of becoming a vet came to a crashing halt. I went home and saw Joan Rivers on The Tonight Show. That’s when I had my AHA moment. I was going to do standup comedy instead?? (I know, I think I had a break down).
Standup comedy leads to radio which lead to fundraising and keynote speaking. Definitely, not a path I would have predicted but I’m so glad that I took it. Last year I was asked to open for and interview Joan Rivers at Roy Thomson Hall. She was amazing. Very gracious. As I sat on stage with Joan talking, in front of 2500 people, I felt like ‘ this is what I’m supposed to be doing’.
3. How do you overcome challenges and obstacles in your business?
Work hard, stay positive and surround myself with positive friends and family.
4. What are your greatest strengths as an entrepreneur?
Adaptability, patience and faith in what I do.
